Admission
Policy
As
a parochial school of the Archdiocese of San Francisco, St. Anselm's purpose
is to form students in Christian living
through a curriculum integrated with the teachings of Christ and Gospel
values, administered by dedicated and professional staff of Christian men and
women. We offer a strong academic curriculum with several co-curricular
programs geared to the average and above-average student.
St. Anselm School mindful of its mission to be witness to the love of Christ for all, admits students of any race, color, and national and/or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded to or made available to students on the basis of race, color, and national and/or ethnic origin, age, sex or disability in administration of educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
1.
Submit an application with the $25.00 non-refundable
filing fee.
2. You will be contacted to
schedule an interview and tour of the school with the principal.
3. When you visit you'll be
given the necessary recommendation forms to be completed by your child's teacher.
4. Students entering grades
2-8 will be asked to spend a half or full day at St. Anselm for assessment.
5. Applications are accepted throughout the year. We begin acceptances for Kindergarten beginning the second week of February based on the priority listing for acceptance (see below).
6. ........A non-refundable registration fee for student
entering the school is due ten days
............after acceptance. Receipt of
this fee reserves your child's place.

7. Your
child's application file is complete when we have received:
a) the application and fee
b) the teacher reccomendation is on file
c) a copy of the child's Baptismal Certificate (if applicable)
d) the parents/guardian have had an interview and tour
..........e) the applicant has been assessed (grades 2-8)

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Acceptance
to St. Anselm School is also based upon the following:
1.
A Teacher Recommendation form
must be completed by the applicant's current teacher for students entering
........... K-8th grade. All new students,
grades 1-8, are admitted on a probationary basis and remain on probation
........... through the first semester.
2. The student’s records must
show that they have been attending school regularly, are in good academic
............standing and have above average conduct/effort
grades.
3. Kindergarten students must
be five years of age by September 1 of their Kindergarten year. Students
with
.......... .June, July, August
birthdays will be assessed prior to admissions. First
grade students must
.......... .be six
years of age by September 1 of their first grade year. .
4.
Proof of immunization must be submitted
prior to the beginning of
school. No student will be admitted to
........... class without this proof.
5.
Parents agree to actively support the school's
spiritual and academic standards.
PRIORITY LISTING FOR ACCEPTANCE
Priority
is given to children of registered, participating members of St. Anselm Parish, and registered members
of any other Catholic parish in Marin County. Non-Catholics will
be accepted if the school possesses capacity for
additional students. Once it has been determined that the applicant has been
attending school/pre-school regularly,
is in good academic standing and has an above average conduct/effort
grade, students will be accepted according
to the following order of admissions:
1. Children of families currently
enrolled in St. Anselm School.
2.
Children of registered, participating members
of St. Anselm Parish. It is understood that a “St. Anselm Parishioner”
............is a baptized Catholic and a registered
member of St. Anselm Parish, who participates regularly at Sunday Eucharist
and
............contributes personally and financially
to the Church as individual means allow.
3.
Children of Non-Participating St. Anselm
Parishioners.
4. Children of families who are members of a Catholic parish other than St. Anselm.
5. Children of families who practice another faith.
