Welcome back to school! It is wonderful to have the children in our library. They not only have summer adventures to tell, but recommendations of books they enjoyed in the past weeks. All of which I love to hear!
This is another very busy year for the library. Kindergardeners visit weekly for story time. They enjoy the favorite picture book classics, as well many new fun stories. First grade start their library time with a story, then have the fun of choosing a book to take home and enjoy with their family.
The second and third grades come to the library weekly. They learn various library skills, such as how to use an encyclopedia, dictionary, and of course, the Dewey Decimal System.
The library is open at most recess and lunch times, for all the students, and is usually very busy. The older grades use these times to freely browse the shelves, often using recommendations from classmates or the librarian, to make their selections.
Our library shelves are filled with many genres of books, at every level. There is something to spark every imagination. Our goal is to foster a life long love of reading.
Come visit, and perhaps you would like to check out a book too. Sharing a book with your child can be very rewarding, at every age!
